Pedestrian Accidents in Hartford

Pedestrian accidents are among the most dangerous traffic incidents because walkers and joggers have no protection against a moving vehicle. In Hartford and across Connecticut, busy areas see heavy foot traffic, which increases the risk of serious crashes.

Victims of pedestrian accidents often suffer life-altering injuries, including traumatic brain injuries, broken bones, and severe internal damage. Recovery can take months or even years, and in many cases, victims are left with permanent disabilities.

When someone suffers serious injuries in a hit-and-run, the challenges go far beyond physical pain. Families often face unexpected medical bills, emotional distress, and uncertainty about the future. Fortunately, victims may have the right to pursue compensation. Possible damages can include:

  • Medical expenses for emergency care, surgeries, rehabilitation, and ongoing treatment.
  • Lost wages for time missed from work and reduced earning capacity in the future.
  • Pain and suffering are recognized as the physical and emotional impact of the accident.
  • Long-term care costs for victims who require therapy, mobility aids, or in-home assistance.

Working with an experienced Connecticut pedestrian accident attorney is essential. A lawyer can help identify the responsible party, work with insurance companies, and pursue fair compensation. Even in hit-and-run cases, victims may still be able to recover damages through uninsured motorist coverage or other legal avenues.
