Injuries Reported in Serious Crash on I-84 Near Exit 37

Farmington, CT (September 30, 2025) – Emergency crews responded on Monday morning, September 29, to a serious crash on Interstate 84 East in Farmington.

State police said authorities responded to the collision near Exit 37 just after the morning commute began. Multiple injuries were reported, though officials have not yet confirmed the number of people hurt or the extent of their conditions.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation confirmed that the crash shut down part of I-84 East between Exits 36 and 37, as well as the Route 72 westbound ramp. Drivers faced traffic delays stretching nearly four miles as first responders worked at the scene.

Medical crews arrived to provide air transport for at least one of the injured victims. Authorities have not shared a timeline for when the closed sections of the roadway will reopen. Police continue to investigate the events leading up to the crash.

We extend our best wishes to those injured in this accident and hope for their full recovery.

Car Accidents in Connecticut

Car accidents on major highways often result in devastating injuries due to high speeds and heavy traffic. Victims may suffer a wide range of injuries, from broken bones to head trauma, depending on the force of the impact.

Common injuries in highway car accidents include:

  • Neck and back injuries: These injuries can cause chronic pain and may limit mobility for months or years. Victims often require physical therapy or surgery.
  • Spine injuries: Damage to the spinal cord can result in partial or complete paralysis, significantly altering a victim’s life.
  • Traumatic brain injuries: Concussions and more serious head trauma may lead to memory loss, difficulty concentrating, and long-term disability.
  • Abdominal injuries: Internal bleeding or organ damage may occur and require emergency surgery to prevent life-threatening complications.
  • Shoulder injuries: Collisions often cause torn ligaments or dislocations, which may require extensive rehabilitation.

Accident victims often face overwhelming medical bills, lost wages, and emotional stress while trying to recover. A skilled car accident attorney can help victims and their families navigate these challenges. By investigating the crash, gathering evidence, and negotiating with insurance companies, an attorney ensures that victims receive the compensation they need for medical care and financial stability.
