Car Accidents in Connecticut

Car accidents are a leading cause of injury throughout Connecticut, and busy city routes often see frequent collisions. Many of these accidents result from driver inattention, failure to yield, or speeding in congested areas.

When two vehicles collide, even at moderate speeds, the impact can cause serious injuries such as whiplash, broken bones, and neck and back injuries that may require long-term treatment.

According to the Connecticut Department of Transportation, thousands of crashes occur every year in the state, with a large number leading to hospital visits. Victims of car accidents often face costly medical bills, vehicle repairs, and time away from work. However, injured individuals have legal rights and may be eligible to pursue compensation for these losses.

Some of the most common causes of car crashes include:

  • Distracted driving, especially cell phone use behind the wheel
  • Speeding or reckless maneuvers in heavy traffic
  • Failing to obey traffic signals or stop signs
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
