Investigators shut down the area near the intersection while they examined the scene. Police called in the Mid-State Accident Reconstruction Squad to help determine how the crash happened.

At this time, officials have not shared what caused the three vehicles to collide. The investigation remains active.

We hope everyone hurt in this crash receives the care they need and makes a full recovery.

Car Accidents in Connecticut

Multi-vehicle crashes can cause wide-ranging harm because the force hits people from several angles. In a three-car collision, drivers and passengers often suffer head injuries, broken bones, and painful neck and back damage. Even when injuries seem mild at first, symptoms can grow worse over the next few days. That is why doctors urge crash victims to get checked right away.

Busy local roads also raise the risk of chain-reaction crashes. Evening traffic, limited visibility, and rushed drivers can lead to sudden stops and impacts. Many multi-car wrecks start with one mistake, then spread quickly to other vehicles.

Here are a few helpful steps after a multi-car crash:

  • Get medical care immediately, even if you feel okay.
  • Keep copies of bills, discharge papers, and doctor notes.
  • Take photos of injuries and vehicle damage if you can.
  • Avoid discussing faults with insurers before getting advice.

After a serious crash, people often face more than medical pain. They may miss work, lose income, and struggle with ongoing therapy. A car accident lawyer can help victims recover these losses when another driver caused the crash. Compensation may include emergency care, hospital bills, follow-up treatment, lost wages, reduced earning ability, and pain and suffering.
