Motorcycle Accidents in Connecticut
Motorcycle crashes often lead to injuries even at lower speeds. Riders have little protection compared to people in cars. When a vehicle strikes a motorcycle, the rider can fall hard onto the road or nearby objects. Even “minor” injuries can affect work, daily life, and long-term health.
Victims in motorcycle collisions may face injuries such as:
- Road rash and deep skin cuts from sliding on pavement
- Broken bones in the arms, legs, ribs, or collarbone
- Neck and back strain from sudden impact or twisting
- Head injuries, including concussions, even with a helmet
- Knee, ankle, or wrist damage from bracing during a fall
- Internal bruising or organ injuries from blunt force
Many riders feel okay right after a crash, but pain can rise later. Swelling and soft tissue injuries may take hours to show. Follow-up care can include imaging, physical therapy, and time away from work. These costs add up fast.
When a driver causes a motorcycle crash, injured riders may have the right to seek compensation. A motorcycle accident lawyer can help victims recover medical bills, lost income, rehabilitation costs, and pain and suffering. A lawyer can also gather evidence, review crash reports, and deal with insurance adjusters who may try to downplay injuries.
