Norwich, CT (March 17, 2026) – A reported lithium-ion battery explosion inside a warehouse in the Taftville section of Norwich on Saturday, March 14, left one person injured. Emergency units responded around midnight to a building on Jewett City Road after reports that a battery had exploded inside the facility.
Norwich Fire responders arrived and assessed workers who were inside the warehouse at the time of the incident. Authorities confirmed that one person suffered injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
