How Can Rear-End Collisions Lead to Delayed Injuries in Ledyard, CT?
Many people involved in rear-end collisions initially believe they escaped serious harm, only to experience symptoms hours or even days later. The sudden force of a crash can affect muscles, ligaments, nerves, and joints in ways that may not be immediately apparent. Because of this, it is recommended to seek prompt medical attention even when discomfort seems minor.
Whiplash is one of the most common injuries associated with rear-end crashes, but it is not the only one. Head injuries, back pain, shoulder injuries, and soft tissue damage can also develop over time. Medical evaluations can help identify these conditions early and create documentation that may become relevant during an insurance claim.
Obtaining medical records soon after a collision may help establish a timeline between the crash and any resulting injuries. A car accident attorney can be able to review available documentation, explain insurance-related issues, and discuss what legal options may be available depending on the circumstances.
