Is Legal Guidance Necessary After a Crash in Norwich, CT?

Not every crash leads to a lawsuit, and not every person hurt needs to hire an attorney. But there are situations where legal guidance makes a meaningful difference. A two-car crash on a busy commercial street like Main Street in Norwich is the kind of case where the answer is less obvious than people expect.

When injuries are minor and liability is clear, some people navigate the insurance process without an attorney. But even straightforward cases can become complicated quickly. Insurance companies, whether yours or the other driver’s, have adjusters whose job is to minimize payouts. Without someone who reviews the details on your behalf, it is easy to accept a settlement that does not fully account for follow-up treatment, lost wages, or injuries that worsened after the initial offer was made.

Connecticut law gives crash victims two years from the date of the collision to file a personal injury claim. That deadline is firm. Consulting a Connecticut car accident attorney does not commit you to litigation; in many cases, it simply helps you understand what your options are and whether the settlement being offered reflects the full value of your claim.
