Connecticut Motorcycle Accidents
Riding a motorcycle offers freedom and excitement, but on Connecticut’s busy interstates, winding rural roads, and crowded city streets, it also comes with serious risks. Sadly, fatal motorcycle accidents have become an all-too-common occurrence in our state, leaving families devastated and communities mourning the sudden loss of life.
In just a moment, a crash can change everything. Because motorcyclists have little protection compared to drivers of larger vehicles, collisions often result in fatal injuries. Families left behind face not only the deep emotional toll of losing a loved one, but also unexpected financial burdens such as funeral expenses, lost income, and the immeasurable cost of grief.
Many of these tragedies could have been prevented, as they often stem from negligent driving behaviors such as:
Driver Inattention – Failing to notice motorcycles when changing lanes, turning, or entering intersections frequently leads to deadly collisions.
Impaired Driving – Alcohol and drugs remain a factor in fatal crashes across Connecticut.
Excessive Speed & Aggressive Maneuvers – Drivers who speed, tailgate, or ignore traffic laws increase the likelihood of a collision with catastrophic results.
Failure to Yield – Motorcycles are often struck when other drivers fail to yield the right-of-way at intersections or while merging.
