East Hartford, CT (September 28, 2025) – A 60-year-old man lost his life on Saturday evening, September 27, in a devastating pedestrian crash in East Hartford.
The tragedy happened just before 7:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Silver Lane. Investigators said William Drouin, of East Hartford, was crossing the roadway on foot when a vehicle struck him with tremendous force.
Firefighters rushed to the scene and worked quickly to help him. Paramedics provided urgent care before taking Drouin to a nearby hospital. Doctors tried to save him, but his injuries were too severe, and he passed away shortly after arrival.
The driver involved stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. The East Hartford Police Department is leading the investigation and will provide more details as they become available.
