Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in Connecticut

Pedestrian deaths remain a serious concern across Connecticut. Busy roads like Hazard Avenue can become deadly when drivers lose focus or fail to follow traffic laws. A single moment of distraction or reckless behavior can lead to devastating, life-ending injuries.

Many fatal pedestrian crashes share similar causes:

  • Driver Distraction: Looking at phones or other devices takes a driver’s eyes off the road.
  • Speeding: High speeds reduce reaction time and make collisions far more deadly.
  • Failure to Yield: Some drivers fail to stop for pedestrians even when the law requires it.
  • Low Visibility: Darkness, weather, or poor lighting can make it harder for drivers to see people walking.
  • Driving Under the Influence: Alcohol or drugs slow reaction time and impair judgment.

Losing a loved one in a pedestrian accident can bring unbearable grief and unexpected financial strain. Families often face medical bills from emergency care, funeral and burial costs, and the loss of income the loved one once provided.

If you lost someone in a crash, you may be able to file a wrongful death claim. This type of claim can help cover medical expenses, funeral and burial costs, lost income, and the emotional pain of losing a loved one.

Navigating this process while mourning can feel overwhelming. A brave wrongful death lawyer can investigate the crash, deal with insurance companies, and fight for the full compensation your family deserves. Having skilled legal help allows families to focus on healing while ensuring the at-fault driver is held accountable.
