Plainville, CT (May 24, 2026) \u2013<\/b> An 88-year-old pedestrian died on Saturday, May 24, after a vehicle struck him on New Britain Avenue in Plainville. The victim was identified as Richard Sederquist of Middletown.<\/span><\/p>\n

The crash happened in the 400 block of New Britain Avenue near Crooked Street. A Honda HR-V was traveling east on New Britain Avenue when the driver struck Sederquist as he was crossing the roadway.<\/span><\/p>\n

The force of the collision left Sederquist with serious injuries. He was taken to a hospital, where he died several hours later.<\/span><\/p>\n

The driver of the Honda stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. New Britain Avenue was closed near Crooked Street for several hours and reopened around 4:40 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n
