Groton, CT (May 31, 2026) \u2013<\/strong> Two firefighters were injured early Sunday, May 31, after flames broke out at an apartment complex on Ledgewood Drive in Groton, forcing dozens of residents to evacuate.<\/p>\n

The blaze was reported around 3 a.m. at the Ledges Apartments, where flames spread through multiple floors and into the attic. More than 50 residents were displaced as the structure sustained heavy damage.<\/p>\n

A witness said people were awakened by shouting and thick smoke, prompting a hurried escape from the building. The person described seeing flames spread between buildings, forcing everyone outside in the dark.<\/p>\n
