How Do I Document My Injuries After a Motorcycle Crash in Connecticut?

After a motorcycle crash in Connecticut, the first step is getting a medical evaluation as soon as possible. A doctor or emergency room visit creates an official record that connects your injuries to the crash. This initial record often becomes the foundation of any claim that follows.

Once you have received initial care, photograph all visible injuries right away. Capture bruises, cuts, road rash, and any swelling from multiple angles. Include timestamps in your photos to establish when the injuries were documented.

Collect every piece of paperwork your medical providers give you. Hospital discharge papers, test results, prescriptions, and doctor notes should all be kept together. These records show what care was needed and how serious the injuries were.

Keep a daily journal starting the day after the crash. Write down pain levels, mobility issues, sleep disruptions, and anything that affects your normal routine. Personal notes like these capture details that medical records alone may not reflect.

Track every cost connected to your recovery. Medical bills, prescription costs, transportation to appointments, and any therapy fees should all be recorded. Keeping receipts and statements organized makes it easier to account for the full financial impact.

Attend all follow-up appointments and document how your condition changes over time. Note any new symptoms, improvements, or setbacks at each visit. Progress records show the full scope of recovery and can be important in supporting a claim.

A motorcycle accident lawyer can help gather records, identify gaps in evidence, and connect your injuries to the crash. This allows you to focus on recovery while your case moves forward.
