What Should You Do After a Multi-Vehicle Accident in East Hartford, CT?
After a multi-vehicle pileup in East Hartford, stay at the scene unless you need immediate medical attention, and call for help right away. Photograph the vehicles, document road and weather conditions, and collect contact information from the other drivers.
Connecticut law requires drivers to report any crash that involves injury or death to the state’s Department of Motor Vehicles. Route 2 is one of the main east-west arteries in Hartford County, which consequently, draws consistent commuter and commercial traffic, particularly during morning peak hours. These conditions make this area really prone to multi-vehicle crashes.
People hurt in pile-ups on high-speed corridors often face a wide range of injuries, for example broken bones, torn ligaments, head trauma, and soft tissue damage. Injuries that involve the neck and back can be especially difficult to assess right away, as symptoms may not fully appear until hours or days after the pileup.
Getting a medical evaluation promptly helps both your immediate health and any future documentation needs.
