Rollover Injury Crash Involving Truck on I-395 Near Vauxhall St

New London, CT (February 6, 2026) – A rollover crash involving a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle sent two people to the hospital on Thursday, February 5, on Interstate 395 in New London. The accident happened on the southbound side of the highway near Exit 2 by the Vauxhall Street overpass.

The New London Fire Department and emergency units responded at approximately 8:21 a.m., after receiving reports of a rollover crash on the highway. Responders arrived to find a passenger car overturned and resting on its roof with visible damage. A tractor-trailer was also involved in the collision.

Officials confirmed that all occupants from the overturned vehicle had exited before crews arrived. No one was trapped inside the vehicle. Emergency units assessed the scene and checked those involved for injuries while addressing roadway safety concerns.

Two people from the overturned car were taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Authorities did not release information about the extent of their injuries. State police also traveled farther down the highway to check on the tractor-trailer driver, though no injuries were reported for that individual.

Crews worked to manage the scene and ensure safe conditions along the highway. Officials did not share details about what caused the rollover or how the vehicles came into contact. The investigation into this crash remains active.

We wish those injured a strong and full recovery.

How Do Medical Checks Help an Injury Claim After a Crash in Connecticut?

Medical checks play an important role in injury claims after a crash in Connecticut because they document injuries and link them to the accident. Even when injuries seem mild at first, early medical visits help identify issues that may not show symptoms right away.

These records often become key reference points during insurance reviews and legal discussions.

After a rollover crash or collision, the body may absorb sudden force that causes internal injuries, head trauma, or soft tissue damage.

Some people notice pain or stiffness hours or days later. Medical evaluations help doctors monitor symptoms and recommend follow-up care when needed. These visits also create timelines that show when symptoms began.

Medical records help explain how an injury affects daily life. Treatment notes may include activity restrictions, therapy recommendations, or work limitations.

This information can help clarify how long recovery may take and what care is required. Consistent follow-up visits also show that injuries are being taken seriously and managed appropriately.

In injury claims, insurance companies often review medical documentation closely. Bills, test results, and provider notes help outline costs and treatment plans.

Clear records reduce confusion and help explain why certain care was needed. Keeping copies of all medical paperwork makes it easier to respond to requests for information.

Medical checks can also help rule out unrelated conditions. When doctors evaluate injuries soon after a crash, they can better determine whether symptoms relate to the accident. This distinction often matters during claim reviews. Delays in care may raise questions that are harder to address later.

A car accident lawyer can help explain how medical records are used in Connecticut injury claims. Legal guidance may clarify which documents are helpful and how treatment timelines factor into claims.

An attorney can also review insurance communication and explain what options may be available based on the records.
