Car Accidents in Connecticut

Car accidents remain one of the most common causes of serious injuries across Connecticut. Intersections often see steady traffic flow, making them particularly vulnerable to collisions. While every crash is unique, there are common factors that often play a role.

Some of the most frequent causes of car accidents include:

  • Distracted driving – Cell phone use, eating, or adjusting controls takes focus off the road and leads to mistakes.
  • Speeding – Driving above the speed limit reduces reaction time and makes collisions more severe.
  • Failure to yield – Many crashes occur when drivers ignore traffic signals or signs at busy intersections.
  • Driving under the influence – Alcohol or drug use slows reaction times and impairs judgment, increasing crash risks.
  • Reckless or aggressive driving – Tailgating, weaving through lanes, or ignoring traffic laws puts everyone in danger.
  • Unlicensed or suspended drivers – Operating a vehicle without a valid license often signals unsafe or unlawful behavior.

Understanding these risks can help drivers remain alert and take steps to prevent crashes. Unfortunately, not all accidents are avoidable, and victims are often left dealing with medical bills, lost wages, and emotional distress.

Working with an experienced car accident lawyer can help victims protect their rights and seek compensation. A lawyer can review evidence, investigate negligence, and pursue fair recovery for those harmed by reckless or careless drivers.
