Franklin, CT (April 16, 2026) – A serious multi-vehicle crash with extrication took place early Wednesday morning, April 15, on Route 32 in Franklin. The accident occurred around 5:50 a.m. near the area of 387 Route 32 and involved three vehicles.
Franklin Fire Department and emergency units arrived quickly and confirmed that two of the vehicles had occupants trapped inside. Crews began extrication efforts shortly after arrival and worked to safely remove those pinned in the wreckage.
Rescuers freed the first trapped victim at approximately 6:22 a.m. and continued efforts to reach a second individual. They completed the second extrication around 6:26 a.m., allowing both victims to receive further medical attention.
Paramedics evaluated those involved at the scene and transported at least two people to a nearby hospital. Officials have not released details about the extent of their injuries at this time.
Additional emergency units responded to assist with patient care and scene management. Authorities have not confirmed what caused the crash or how the vehicles collided. Investigators continue to review the circumstances surrounding the accident.
