Can a Hit-and-Run Driver Be Identified After Leaving a Crash in East Hartford, CT?
Yes, even when a driver flees, Connecticut law gives injured people more than one way to pursue compensation while police work to track down the vehicle. Crashes near Temple Drive often draw attention from nearby cameras along Main Street and Burnside Avenue, and traffic footage, witness accounts, and even paint or debris left at the scene can help investigators narrow down a vehicle description, as the pickup truck reported here.
Victims involved in a crash with a fleeing driver’s escape can face injuries that range from fractures to head trauma, and the seriousness isn’t always clear right away. Property damage from a pole strike, like the outage reported in this case, can also raise separate questions about who’s responsible for utility repair costs.
When the at-fault driver can’t be identified right away, Connecticut’s uninsured motorist coverage commonly becomes relevant, since a driver’s own policy may step in to cover losses that would otherwise go uncompensated. Filing deadlines still apply even when a driver hasn’t been found, so it can help to have a advogado de acidentes de carro review what coverage exists and how the two-year clock for a Connecticut injury claim is affected by an ongoing search.
