Bristol, CT – Pedestrian Seriously Hurt in Crash on Burlington Ave near Henderson St

Bristol, CT (March 10, 2026) – A pedestrian suffered serious injuries after a vehicle struck him in Bristol, according to Bristol Police.

The accident happened around 8:21 a.m. on March 9, along Burlington Avenue, also known as Route 69, near Henderson Street. Officers responded to reports of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian in the area.

When authorities arrived, they found a 36-year-old man from Torrington lying in the southbound lane of Route 69 with significant injuries. Police said the male driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and helped assist the injured pedestrian.

Officers began providing aid to the victim while waiting for emergency medical personnel to arrive. Responders later moved the injured man to an area behind the Patricia D’Amato Residences so paramedics could continue treatment.

Medical crews later transported the man by Life Star helicopter to Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury for further care. Officials have not released details about his current condition.

Police said the driver involved in the crash did not suffer injuries and stayed at the scene while officers documented the incident. Authorities also confirmed the driver cooperated with investigators during the response.

The crash prompted officials to shut down Burlington Avenue for a period of time while investigators worked at the scene. Bristol’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team responded to assist with the investigation.
