Enfield, CT (December 2, 2025) – Polícia Estadual de Connecticut responded to a late-night crash on Interstate 91 southbound in Enfield that involved four vehicles and left one driver injured. Troopers received the call around 11:46 p.m. on Saturday, November 29. The collision happened ahead of Exit 46 in the center travel lane.
Police said a Nissan Rogue and a Chevrolet Camaro traveled south in the center lane. At the same time, a Ford Transit T-350 moved to the left lane, and a fourth vehicle drove in the right lane. Investigators believe the fourth vehicle tried to merge into the center lane and struck the Nissan on the passenger side. The impact caused the Nissan to spin and stop sideways in the center lane. The Chevrolet and the Ford then hit the disabled Nissan.
Emergency crews arrived quickly and helped the people involved. Paramedics took the driver of the Chevrolet to Baystate Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. Tow trucks removed the Nissan, Chevrolet, and Ford from the roadway.
The fourth vehicle did not stay at the scene. Police described it as a dark colored, four-door sedan. Troopers are asking anyone with information to contact them as they work to identify the hit-and-run driver. A investigação continua ativa.
Desejamos ao motorista ferido uma recuperação completa e rápida.
Acidentes de carro em Connecticut
Multi-vehicle crashes on highways often happen in a split second. These roads carry fast traffic and tight spacing, especially near exits. When one driver makes an unsafe move, the result can be a chain reaction that hurts several people at once.
Possible reasons these highway crashes may happen include:
- Drivers change lanes without checking blind spots.
- Merging drivers misjudge speed or distance in the next lane.
- Some drivers follow too closely and cannot stop in time.
- Distracted driving causes late reactions to traffic changes.
- Speeding reduces control during quick lane shifts.
- Fatigue slows judgment during late-night travel.
- Aggressive driving leads to risky merges or sudden cuts.
- Poor lighting makes it harder to see a vehicle entering the lane.
- Wet or slick pavement increases spin-out risk after impact.
- Drivers panic after a crash and leave the scene instead of stopping.
When a driver flees, victims face extra stress. They may worry about medical bills, car repairs, and missing work. In these cases, a compassionate advogado de acidentes de carro can help by gathering crash reports, locating witnesses, and requesting roadway or business video. They also handle insurer calls, so victims can focus on healing.
