What Evidence Should I Collect After a Multi-Vehicle Accident in Farmington, CT?
After a multi-vehicle accident in Farmington, you should collect evidence that shows what happened, who was involved, and how you were hurt. This may include photos, driver details, witness names, official reports, medical records, and insurance paperwork. Keeping these items together can make the claim process easier to follow.
Once you are safe, take pictures of vehicle damage, road markings, traffic signs, weather conditions, and visible injuries. Photos can help preserve details before vehicles move or conditions change. These images may help explain how the crash affected each vehicle.
After you document the area, you should gather information from everyone involved. This may include names, phone numbers, license plate numbers, insurance cards, and vehicle descriptions. In a three-car crash, these details help separate each person’s role.
If other people saw the crash, their accounts can help clarify what happened. You should ask for their names and contact information if they agree to share it. A witness may recall details that drivers did not notice during the collision.
An official Farmington police report can help organize the basic facts of the crash. This may include the location, time, drivers, vehicles, and statements gathered at the scene. You should request a copy once it becomes available.
Medical records also matter because they connect your injuries to the accident. You should keep hospital papers, discharge notes, bills, prescriptions, and follow-up instructions. If symptoms change later, written notes can help track your recovery.
