What Compensation Can You Recover After a Crash in Enfield, CT?
In Connecticut, you may recover compensation for medical bills, lost wages, and other injury-related losses. The amount depends on the facts of the crash and who was at fault. Connecticut allows recovery as long as you are not more than 50 percent responsible.
Roads like Brainard Road, Hazard Avenue, and Enfield Street carry steady traffic through Enfield every day. These roads connect local neighborhoods to Route 5 and Interstate 91. Crashes on these routes can cause serious injuries, especially when utility poles are involved.
After a crash involving a downed pole, medical costs can rise quickly. Emergency care, imaging, follow-up visits, and therapy may all add to the total. Keeping records of every expense from the start can help support a future claim.
On top of medical bills, you may also recover compensation for missed time at work. If your injuries keep you home for weeks or longer, lost income can create real financial pressure. Pay stubs and a doctor’s note can help show that loss.
Even if you think you may share some fault, Connecticut law may still allow you to recover compensation. Your award is reduced by your share of responsibility. For example, if you were 30 percent at fault, you could still recover 70 percent of your damages.
When a crash damages property like a utility pole, liability can become more complicated. A utility company, municipality, road condition, or another party may need review. Each detail matters when determining who may be responsible.
While you recover, insurance calls and paperwork can become difficult to manage. A advogado de acidentes de carro can review the facts, speak with adjusters, and help keep your claim on track. Getting legal support early can also help prevent delays or missed deadlines.
