Bloomfield, CT (March 14, 2026) \u2013<\/b><\/strong> On Thursday, March 12, authorities identified the man who died following a house explosion and fire earlier that week on Banbury Lane in Bloomfield. Officials confirmed the victim as 71-year-old Thomas Moore, who was the only person inside the home at the time of the incident.<\/p>\n

The explosion occurred on Banbury Lane around 6 p.m. on Monday, March 9. Emergency crews rushed to the scene after reports of a blast that triggered a house fire. When responders arrived, they found the residence heavily damaged and engulfed in flames.<\/p>\n

Firefighters attempted to reach the occupant inside the structure. However, the fire and the collapse of parts of the home made access difficult during the early response.<\/p>\n

Authorities later found a body within the debris during recovery efforts. Crews recovered the remains at approximately 1:20 a.m. and contacted the state medical examiner to assist with the identification process.<\/p>\n
