Why Medical Care Still Matters After a Crash in Colchester, CT

After a crash in Colchester, CT, injuries that seem minor at the scene can turn out to be more serious than they first appear. Specifically rollover crashes can generate significant rotational and compressive forces that can affect the spine, neck, and joints in ways that don’t show up immediately. Soreness, stiffness, and headaches that begin hours or days later are common after this type of collision.

Colchester is a rural town in New London County where Route 16 serves as one of the main travel corridors connecting the area to Hebron, Lebanon, and the broader eastern Connecticut region. Route 11 and Route 2 also run through or near the area, and carry commuter and commercial traffic across the county. Intersections where rural routes meet can be particularly risky due to limited sight lines, variable speed differentials, and the absence of traffic signals.

Connecticut follows a modified comparative fault rule, meaning a person can still seek damages as long as they are not more than 50 percent responsible for the crash. A car accident attorney can help someone hurt in a rollover understand what documentation may matter most and what compensation may be available under Connecticut law.
