Manchester, CT (December 2, 2025) – Firefighters responded to a late-night apartment fire in Manchester on Saturday, November 29. Crews received an automatic alarm at about 11:01 p.m. from a 24-room tenement on Foster Street. When firefighters reached the building, they saw flames burning on the first floor. Smoke spread quickly through the structure, and several residents could not get out on their own.
Firefighters entered the building right away and rescued three people who were trapped inside. One person needed extra help, so crews used a ladder truck to bring them down safely. Medical teams checked all three victims at the scene. Officials said one rescued resident suffered non-life-threatening injuries and went to a local hospital for treatment. Firefighters then knocked down the fire and stopped it from spreading further.
