What Should You Do If You Sustained Minor Injuries in a Crash in Avon, CT?

Even when injuries are listed as minor, to get checked by a medical professional after a crash is one of the most useful steps a person can take, since adrenaline commonly masks pain in the first few hours. Connecticut gives injured people up to two years from the date of a crash to file a personal injury claim, which gives some breathing room to monitor symptoms before they decide how to proceed.

Soft-tissue injuries, whiplash, and concussions are especially common in intersection collisions and can take days to fully present, sometimes appearing only after a person resumes normal activity. Documenting any pain or stiffness early, even if it seems minor, can matter later if symptoms worsen.

Connecticut follows a modified comparative negligence rule, which means a person can still recover damages as long as they’re found less than 51% responsible for the crash. To figure out fault at an intersection can usually come down to who had right-of-way or signal timing, which a car accident lawyer can help sort through once police reports and any witness statements become available.

At L.A. LAW, we have extensive experience working with car accident victims across Connecticut to help them understand what compensation they may be entitled to and how to proceed after the crash. We can evaluate how your crash unfolded and explain what legal steps may be available for you.
