School Bus Involved in Crash on Stafford Avenue with 14 Students Onboard

Bristol, CT (October 2, 2025) – A school bus with 14 students from Bristol Eastern High School was involved in a crash on Stafford Avenue on Wednesday afternoon, October 1. The incident occurred just before 2 p.m., when a First Student bus collided with another vehicle south of Farmington Avenue.

The Bristol Police Department responded to the scene and reported that there were no injuries among the bus occupants, including the students and the bus driver. However, the driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash sustained injuries and was evaluated by medical personnel at the scene.

Representatives from the Bristol Board of Education and the bus company were also present to handle the situation. They assured that they would be in contact with the parents of the students on board the bus.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and further details have not been released at this time.

We wish the injured drivers a full and speedy recovery.

Car and Bus Accidents in Connecticut

Car accidents involving buses, especially those that carry students, can raise concerns for the safety of both students and drivers. While no life-threatening injuries were reported in this incident, accidents involving school buses often require thorough investigations, especially if a student or other passenger sustains an injury.

Even in situations where the crash appears to be minor, it’s important to recognize that the consequences can still be serious for everyone involved. For the driver of the other vehicle, the minor injuries they sustained may result in medical treatment, rehabilitation, or other long-term care.

In some cases, accidents can also lead to emotional trauma or psychological distress, which can affect the well-being of the driver or any other victims involved.

If you or someone you know has been involved in a car accident, including one involving a school bus, it’s important to understand what compensation you may be entitled to through a personal injury claim. In cases of injury, victims may seek compensation for:

  • Medical Expenses: This includes hospital bills, doctor’s visits, emergency treatment, medications, and any future medical care required for recovery.
  • Lost Wages: If injuries from the accident prevent the victim from working, compensation may cover lost income during the recovery period.
  • Pain and Suffering: Victims may be compensated for physical pain, emotional distress, and the overall impact on their quality of life.
  • Property Damage: If the vehicle was damaged in the crash, compensation could cover the repair or replacement costs of the vehicle.
  • Rehabilitation and Therapy: If ongoing treatment such as physical therapy or counseling is required, this may be covered in a personal injury claim.
  • Future Medical Costs: In cases of long-term or permanent injury, compensation may include coverage for future medical treatment and care.
  • Loss of Consortium: If an injury negatively impacts a family member’s relationship with the victim, compensation may be awarded for the emotional distress caused.
