Enfield, CT (January 27, 2026) – On Tuesday, January 27, authorities identified the woman who died after a rear-end crash on Monday afternoon on Interstate 91 South in Enfield. Officials confirmed the victim as 38-year-old Sabria Hardy of Bloomfield.
The crash occurred around 3 p.m. on January 26, near Exit 46, according to the Policía Estatal de Connecticut. Reports show that Hardy’s Mitsubishi was stopped in an undetermined lane after an earlier crash with an Acura. Both vehicles were stationary when a southbound Jeep struck the Acura from behind.
Investigators said Hardy was inside the Acura at the time of the collision. Paramedics rushed her to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, where she later died. The Acura’s driver was hospitalized for minor injuries, while the Jeep’s driver refused medical treatment at the scene.
Officers closed the southbound lanes near Exit 46 as crews cleared debris, gathered evidence, and interviewed witnesses to determine what led to the crash. Traffic later reopened after the roadway was cleared.
The Connecticut State Police continue to investigate the deadly collision.
