Man Burned in House Fire on Park Rd

West Hartford, CT (July 1, 2026) – A man in his 40s was hurt early Wednesday morning, July 1, after a fire broke out in the attic of a two-story home on 516 Park Road, just off the Interstate 84 on- and off-ramps.

West Hartford Fire and emergency units were called to the address around 9:00 a.m. after smoke was seen coming from the roofline. The man was found conscious with second- and third-degree burns covering much of his body.

His airway remained clear at the time, though his breathing rate was elevated. He was taken to the hospital for further care.

Connecticut State police and transportation officials were asked to close the Park Road on- and off-ramps for an extended period to allow for a closer look at the property.

The cause of the fire remains under active investigation.

We hope for a full and speedy recovery for the man injured in this fire.

Who Can Be Liable for a House Fire Injury in West Hartford, CT?

Liability for a house fire injury in West Hartford or anywhere across Connecticut frequently comes down to what sparked the blaze. If faulty wiring, a defective appliance, or a landlord’s failure to keep up the property played a part, the homeowner, landlord, or manufacturer may bear responsibility.

Burn injuries can mean long hospital stays, skin grafts, and lasting scarring. Recovery often calls for multiple surgeries and months of physical therapy. Many burn survivors also deal with nerve damage and reduced mobility long after the wound itself has healed.

In these cases, a abogado de lesiones personales can look into what started the fire, review maintenance and inspection records, and help identify who may be responsible. Legal guidance can also help clarify what options exist for covering medical bills and time away from work during recovery.

At L.A. LAW, we know that a serious burn injury can bring sudden medical costs and a long road back. We are open to evaluating the details of your case and walking you through what options may be available to you under Connecticut law.
