What Damages Can I Recover After a Motorcycle Accident in East Hartford?

If you were hurt in a motorcycle accident in East Hartford, you may be able to recover several types of damages. These may include medical expenses, lost income, reduced earning ability, pain and suffering, and property damage. The amount available depends on your injuries, records, insurance coverage, and how the crash affected your daily life.

Medical expenses often make up a large part of a motorcycle accident claim. You may have bills for emergency care, hospital treatment, follow-up visits, imaging, medication, therapy, and specialist appointments. You should keep every bill, receipt, and medical record because those documents can show how the crash affected your health.

Lost income can apply when your injuries keep you from working after the crash. You may miss days, weeks, or longer depending on your job duties and medical limits. Pay stubs, work schedules, employer letters, and tax records can help show the income you lost.

Pain and suffering damages focus on how the injury affected your daily life. This may include physical pain, sleep problems, limited movement, and emotional distress. A clear record of your symptoms, appointments, and activity limits can help show the full effect of the crash.

Property damage may include the cost to repair or replace your motorcycle. You may also have damage to your helmet, riding gear, phone, or other personal items involved in the accident. Photos, repair estimates, purchase receipts, and insurance records can help support this part of your claim.

Insurance challenges can make a motorcycle accident claim harder to handle. An insurance company may question the value of your injuries, delay payment, or ask for statements that affect your claim. You should be careful when discussing the crash before you understand how your words may be used.

A abogado de accidentes de motocicleta can evaluate the full scope of your damages and explain which categories apply to your case.
