5 Most Common Injuries in Connecticut Crashes

The five most common injuries in Connecticut crashes include whiplash, concussions, back injuries, broken bones, and soft tissue damage. These injuries can range from mild to severe, depending on the force of the collision and the position they were in the vehicle. Even low-speed accidents can cause physical harm, especially to the neck and spine.

Whiplash often occurs when a vehicle stops suddenly, forcing the head forward and backward in a rapid motion. People may notice stiffness, headaches, or limited movement hours after the crash. Concussions and other head injuries can also develop, sometimes without visible signs, which makes medical evaluation important.

Back injuries and soft tissue damage frequently affect muscles, ligaments, and discs in the spine. Pain may increase over several days and interfere with daily activities or work. Broken bones, while easier to diagnose, can require extended treatment and physical therapy.

Connecticut follows a fault-based insurance system, meaning the at-fault driver’s insurance may cover medical expenses and related losses. Proper medical documentation and timely reporting can help support a claim. A abogado de accidentes automovilísticos can review accident reports, treatment records, and insurance policies to explain how the process may work in your case.
