Pedestrian accidents are among the most devastating types of traffic incidents in Connecticut. In busy areas like Hartford, heavy traffic and distracted driving put walkers at constant risk. Without the protection of a vehicle, pedestrians often suffer serious or life-threatening injuries in these crashes.

Common causes of pedestrian accidents include distracted driving, speeding, and drivers failing to yield at crosswalks. Poor lighting and weather conditions can make it difficult for motorists to see people on foot. In some cases, impaired or reckless driving also contributes to these tragic collisions.

Recovering from a pedestrian accident can be long and painful. Many victims face surgery, rehabilitation, and months away from work. Beyond the physical pain, they also deal with emotional distress and mounting financial pressure.
