Manchester, CT – Serious Injuries After 20-Ft Fall at 110 Slater St

Manchester, CT (May 14, 2026) – A person suffered serious injuries after falling approximately 20 feet at the rear of 110 Slater Street in Manchester on Wednesday night, May 13. The incident was reported at approximately 7:41 p.m.

Emergency responders arrived to find that the victim had leaned against a fence positioned over a steep vertical embankment. The fence gave way, sending the person falling roughly 20 feet onto a hard surface below. The location was difficult to access, which complicated the rescue effort significantly.

Manchester Fire and emergency units responded with a technical rescue assignment. Crews secured a hoisting system, using a truck ladder as a high point, and built mirrored rope systems to safely raise the victim from the space. The extrication took approximately 30 minutes to complete.

Paramedics packaged and treated the patient at the scene before transporting them to a local trauma center with serious injuries. No other injuries were reported during the rescue operation.
