South Windsor, CT – Two Cars Involved in Injury Crash at John Fitch Blvd & Bidwell Rd

South Windsor, CT (February 2, 2026) – A two-vehicle accident with injuries occurred on Saturday, January 31, just before 9 p.m. in South Windsor. Emergency units responded to the crash at the intersection of Route 5, also known as John Fitch Boulevard, and Bidwell Road.

South Windsor Police Department and emergency responders arrived quickly and found two vehicles involved in the collision. Officials reported that no one required extrication, and all occupants were able to get out of the vehicles on their own. EMS assessed those involved and confirmed that the injuries were not life-threatening.

Emergency crews provided care at the scene and ensured that everyone received proper evaluation. Authorities closed Route 5 southbound near Governors Highway while crews worked to clear the roadway and remove the damaged vehicles.

Police have not yet shared what caused the accident. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
