What Are Delayed Symptoms After a Car Accident in Connecticut?

Delayed symptoms after a car accident in Connecticut can include neck pain, headaches, back pain, dizziness, numbness, and abdominal discomfort. These symptoms may not appear immediately after a crash. Some people feel fine at first and notice problems hours or even days later.

Whiplash remains one of the most common delayed injuries. It often causes stiffness, reduced range of motion, and ongoing headaches. Concussions can also develop without a direct blow to the head. Signs may include confusion, sensitivity to light, or trouble concentrating. Back injuries, such as herniated discs, sometimes lead to pain that worsens over time.

Internal injuries present another concern. Abdominal pain or deep bruising may signal internal bleeding, which requires prompt medical attention. Emotional and cognitive changes can also surface days after a collision. Sleep problems or difficulty focusing sometimes relate to trauma from the accident.

Medical evaluations play a key role in identifying delayed symptoms. Doctors may order imaging tests or recommend follow-up visits to monitor changes. Keeping records of symptoms, appointments, and treatment helps create a clear timeline.
