Hit-and-Run Accidents in Connecticut

Hit-and-run accidents are unfortunately all too common in Connecticut, and they often leave victims facing not only physical injuries but also emotional and financial challenges.

When a driver leaves the scene of an accident, it becomes more difficult for victims to recover compensation for their injuries and damages.

In hit-and-run accidents, victims may be entitled to compensation through a personal injury claim for:

  • Medical expenses: Even minor injuries can lead to costly medical bills. In the case of more severe injuries, ongoing medical treatment, therapy, and hospital stays can add up quickly.
  • Lost wages: Victims of hit-and-run accidents may miss work due to their injuries, leading to lost wages. In some cases, the recovery process can last weeks or months, further impacting a victim’s income.
  • Pain and suffering: Victims can experience physical and emotional pain after an accident. Compensation for pain and suffering can help victims cope with the long-term effects of their injuries.
  • Property damage: If a victim’s vehicle was damaged in the accident, compensation can help repair or replace it.
  • Punitive damages: If the driver is located and found to be particularly reckless or egregious in their actions, the court may award punitive damages to punish the driver and deter similar behavior.

In hit-and-run cases, working with an experienced personal injury attorney is critical to ensuring victims receive the compensation they deserve. An attorney can help investigate the incident, track down the responsible driver, and work with insurance companies to get fair compensation.

At L.A. LAW, we are dedicated to helping victims of hit-and-run accidents get justice. Our experienced attorneys will fight to protect your rights and help you secure the compensation you need to recover.
