Groton, CT (September 15, 2025) – State police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 95 North late Sunday morning, on September 14, that caused lane closures and resulted in injuries. The crash happened around 11:57 a.m. between Exits 85 and 86 in Groton.
According to the New London County Police, two cars collided while traveling northbound, forcing authorities to shut down the highway in the affected area. Emergency medical crews arrived quickly and treated those injured in the crash. Several people sustained injuries and were transported for additional evaluation.
The interstate remained closed for a short time as crews worked to clear the vehicles and investigate the crash. Authorities have not confirmed the identities of the drivers or passengers involved. By early afternoon, officials reopened all northbound lanes, restoring the flow of traffic.
