Connecticut Pedestrian Accidents
Pedestrian accidents in Connecticut can occur in an instant, often leaving walkers with serious injuries, mounting medical bills, and long-term recovery challenges. Whether in busy downtown areas of Hartford and New Haven, crowded crosswalks, or suburban streets, pedestrians face unique risks and vulnerabilities on the road.
Many pedestrian accidents are preventable and often share similar causes:
- Distracted Driving: Drivers texting, using GPS, or looking away from the road can cause collisions in seconds.
- Impaired Driving: Alcohol, drugs, and prescription medications significantly increase the likelihood of hitting a pedestrian.
- Speeding and Reckless Driving: Excessive speed, failure to yield, and aggressive maneuvers can leave pedestrians with little chance to avoid harm.
If you’ve been injured while walking due to someone else’s negligence, you may be entitled to compensation for medical expenses, lost income, pain and suffering, and emotional trauma. You don’t have to face this challenging process alone.
