Connecticut Car Crashes
Driving across Connecticut comes with constant challenges. Whether navigating the heavy traffic of I-95 and I-84 or commuting through city streets in Hartford, New Haven, or Bridgeport, accidents occur daily—and too often, they leave victims with serious injuries that alter the course of their lives.
While some collisions are minor, many result in devastating outcomes. Victims can experience traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord damage, broken bones, or internal injuries that require extensive medical care and ongoing rehabilitation. On top of the physical toll, the financial burden of hospital bills, therapy, and lost wages often creates overwhelming stress for families.
Many of these accidents could have been avoided. The leading causes of injury crashes in Connecticut include:
- Distracted Driving – Cell phone use, eating, or other distractions take a driver’s focus off the road
- Driving Under the Influence – Alcohol and drug impairment remain major contributors to serious crashes statewide.
- Speeding & Aggressive Behavior – Tailgating, weaving through traffic, and excessive speed amplify both risk and severity of wrecks.
- Failure to Yield – Intersections and crosswalks are frequent sites of injury when drivers disregard right-of-way rules.
When negligence leads to injury, victims have the right to pursue compensation for medical expenses, lost earnings, pain and suffering, and other damages.
