Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accidents in Connecticut
Pedestrian accidents are some of the most devastating crashes on Connecticut roads. When the driver flees the scene, the situation becomes even more painful for victims and their families. Hartford, with its busy streets and constant traffic, has seen an alarming number of these incidents in recent years.
Crashes like the one at Albany Avenue and Chestnut Street often happen because of reckless driving. Speeding through intersections, failing to yield, distracted driving, and impaired driving are leading causes. When drivers ignore safety and pedestrians are left unprotected, the consequences are severe.
Victims of pedestrian accidents often suffer head injuries, broken bones, spinal cord damage, and other long-term conditions that require extensive medical care. These injuries can bring months of recovery, loss of income, and emotional stress that affect every part of daily life.
Connecticut law allows victims to seek compensation for these losses. This may include the cost of emergency medical treatment, hospital stays, rehabilitation, and follow-up care. Victims may also recover payment for lost wages, reduced earning ability, pain and suffering, and other damages.
Unfortunately, insurance companies often try to limit payouts and settle quickly for less than victims deserve.
This is why speaking with an experienced Connecticut pedestrian accident lawyer is so important. A skilled attorney can deal with the insurance companies directly and fight for the full compensation you need to rebuild your life.
