Motorcycle Rider Seriously Injured in Crash at Montauk Ave & Bank St

Hartford, CT (September 21, 2025) – Two people suffered injuries on Sunday, September 21, after a serious motorcycle crash in Hartford.

The collision happened around 1:23 p.m. when a car struck a motorcycle near 755 Capitol Avenue. The impact threw both riders onto the pavement. Fire crews rushed to the scene and found one victim with severe trauma and another with less serious wounds.

Paramedics gave emergency treatment before rushing both victims to a nearby hospital. Doctors are working to stabilize the rider who suffered critical injuries.

Authorities said the driver of the car involved fled the scene after the impact. Police are searching for that driver and reviewing evidence from the crash site.

The Hartford Police Department is leading the investigation and will share more information as it becomes available.

Our hearts go out to the victims and their loved ones during this difficult time.

Motorcycle Accidents in Connecticut

Motorcycle crashes in Connecticut often lead to devastating injuries. Riders lack the same protection as drivers in cars, making them especially vulnerable in collisions. A single impact can result in broken bones, brain injuries, or lifelong complications.

Recent state crash data shows that Connecticut continues to see high numbers of serious motorcycle accidents each year. Intersections and urban streets, like Capitol Avenue,  remain particularly dangerous areas. Even a minor lapse in judgment by a driver can leave motorcyclists fighting for their lives.

A proficient Hartford motorcycle accident lawyer can help victims pursue the compensation they need to move forward. Compensation for motorcycle accident victims may include:

  • Emergency Medical Treatment: Costs for ambulance transport, emergency room visits, and follow-up medical care can add up quickly.
  • Ongoing Rehabilitation: Victims may require physical therapy or mobility support to regain strength and independence.
  • Lost Wages and Reduced Earning Capacity: Injuries can prevent victims from working, sometimes for weeks or months.
  • Pain and Suffering Damages: Victims may seek recovery for both physical pain and emotional distress.
  • Long-Term Care: In more serious cases, compensation may include future medical needs and specialized treatment.
