Manchester, CT - Two Kids Hurt When Car Leaves Roadway on Parker St

Manchester, CT (August 26, 2025) – Two children were hurt Saturday night after a vehicle veered off the road and slammed into a condominium complex in Manchester, causing extensive damage, officials said.

The Manchester Fire Department reported that crews were called to the area of 850 Parker Street shortly after 8 p.m. The car reportedly barreled through a fence on Jamie Lane before colliding with four condo units.

According to fire officials, the crash severed two natural gas lines, destroyed several decks, and damaged multiple air conditioning units. A major gas leak was quickly contained by firefighters at the scene.

Two children inside the car sustained injuries described as non-life-threatening. Paramedics with the Ambulance Service of Manchester treated the children before transporting them to a nearby hospital.

Despite the heavy exterior damage, authorities confirmed the affected condos remain safe for residents to occupy.

In addition to local firefighters, Manchester Police, Eversource CT, CNG, and the town’s building department also responded to assist.

We hope the injured children recover rapidly.

Connecticut Pedestrian Accidents

Pedestrian accidents in Connecticut can happen in the blink of an eye, often leaving walkers with serious injuries, mounting medical bills, and long-term recovery hurdles. From bustling streets in Hartford and New Haven to quieter suburban roads, pedestrians face heightened risks every time they step off the curb.

Many of these accidents are preventable, yet they often share common causes:

  • Distracted Driving: Drivers texting, using navigation systems, or otherwise looking away from the road can strike a pedestrian in seconds.
  • Impaired Driving: Alcohol, drugs, and certain medications increase the likelihood of devastating collisions.
  • Speeding and Reckless Driving: Failing to yield, excessive speed, and aggressive maneuvers can leave pedestrians little chance to avoid injury.

If you or a loved one has been hurt while walking due to another person’s negligence, you may have the right to pursue compensation for medical costs, lost wages, pain and suffering, and emotional trauma. You don’t need to navigate this complex process alone.
