New London, CT (August 14, 2025) – A bicyclist was hurt early Saturday morning after being struck by a vehicle near the entrance to Perez Park in New London.
Emergency crews from New London, Waterford, East Lyme, and Groton responded at approximately 5:18 a.m. on August 10 following reports of a southbound vehicle colliding with a cyclist. Witnesses say the rider was hit near the park entrance and was seen on the ground immediately after the impact.
First responders provided on-scene medical aid before transporting the victim for further evaluation. The severity of the injuries has not yet been confirmed, and officials have not released the names of either the cyclist or the driver. No other injuries were reported in the incident.
Local police are continuing to investigate the events that led to the crash.
