Hartford, CT (May 15, 2026) – A laundry room fire at a multifamily home on the 400 block of Franklin Avenue in Hartford sent one person to the hospital in the early hours of Thursday morning, March 14. Hartford Fire Marshal’s Office and emergency units responded to the scene at approximately 12:34 a.m.
Crews arrived to find a working fire in the laundry room of a 2.5-story multifamily home and quickly put out a dryer fire. The fire stayed contained to the laundry room and did not spread to other areas of the building. No firefighters were hurt during the response.
One person at the scene was evaluated for smoke inhalation and taken to an area hospital for further treatment. Six residents were displaced as a result of the fire. The American Red Cross is working with officials to assist the displaced residents.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
