Preston, CT – Pedestrian Suffers Serious Injuries After Hit-and-Run Crash on Rte 2

Preston, CT (October 30, 2025) – A pedestrian suffered serious injuries Monday evening, October 27, after a pickup truck struck them on Route 2 near the Preston–Norwich line.

De acordo com o Polícia Estadual de Connecticut, the crash occurred around 6:28 p.m. The pickup truck, which sustained heavy front-end damage, fled the scene immediately after hitting the pedestrian. Emergency crews arrived within minutes and provided medical aid before rushing the victim to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment.

Authorities closed Route 2 temporarily while investigators searched for evidence and reviewed surveillance footage from nearby gas stations to identify the vehicle and driver involved. Police are asking anyone with information about the crash or the suspect vehicle to come forward.

The pedestrian’s condition remains critical, and officials have not released their identity. The investigation into this hit-and-run crash is ongoing.
