Evidence to Preserve After a Motorcycle Crash in Enfield, CT
The moments right after a collision are the best opportunity to capture what insurance companies and attorneys will later want to see: the position of the vehicles, skid marks on the pavement, damage to both the motorcycle and the car, and any road conditions that may have played a role.
Photographs taken at the scene carry a kind of immediacy that no later reconstruction can fully replicate. If you are too hurt to do this yourself, ask someone nearby to document it for you.
Beyond photos, physical evidence matters more than most people realize. Do not repair your motorcycle before a motorcycle accident attorney or an expert has had a chance to examine it. The damage pattern on a bike can tell a detailed story about the angle and speed of impact. This information can directly affect how fault is assessed.
Keep any gear you were wearing as well, including a helmet, jacket, or gloves. These items can show the force of a crash in ways that medical records alone cannot capture.
Drivers changing lanes or turning without checking blind spots are among the leading causes of these collisions, and the evidence gathered immediately after a wreck often determines whether that negligence can be proven.
Medical records, repair estimates, witness contact information, and any communication with insurance companies should all be preserved from the start. At L.A. LAW, we can help you understand how to use what you have.
