Southington, CT (September 15, 2025) – A 27-year-old Windsor man sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision on Interstate 691 late Saturday night, on September 13. Connecticut State Police confirmed that three other people also suffered suspected non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.
The accident occurred around 9:40 p.m., near Exit 5 in the westbound lanes. Investigators said the Windsor man was driving a 2009 Acura TL in the eastbound lanes when his vehicle veered off the road. The Acura crossed the median and slammed into a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck traveling west.
The pickup truck was carrying a 36-year-old woman and a 67-year-old man, both from Prospect. A 24-year-old Windsor resident was also a passenger in the Acura. Emergency crews rushed all four individuals to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment. The Windsor driver’s injuries were reported as serious, while the others are expected to recover.
Police said both vehicles sustained heavy damage and required towing from the scene. Authorities notified the Windsor man’s next of kin and continue to investigate the circumstances that caused the crash. The investigation into the crash remains active.
We extend our deepest sympathies to everyone hurt in this collision and hope for a full and speedy recovery for all involved.
