Connecticut Car Accidents
Driving through Connecticut can be both practical and picturesque, whether you’re commuting on I-95, traveling along Route 2, or navigating the state’s winding local roads. Yet every trip comes with the possibility of danger. Motor vehicle crashes remain one of the leading causes of serious injuries in Connecticut, leaving victims and their families struggling with the aftermath.
Unlike minor accidents, serious collisions often bring life-altering consequences. Victims may suffer traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord damage, broken bones, internal organ injuries, or lasting psychological trauma. Even at moderate speeds, the force of impact can lead to extensive medical treatment, rehabilitation, and weeks—or even months—away from work, creating financial and emotional stress.
Sadly, most of these accidents are preventable. Common causes of injury crashes across Connecticut include:
- Distracted Driving – Cell phone use, adjusting navigation systems, or multitasking while driving reduces awareness and reaction time.
- Impaired Driving – Alcohol and drug impairment continue to play a major role in severe and fatal crashes statewide.
- Speeding & Reckless Behavior – Excessive speed, unsafe lane changes, and failure to yield remain leading factors in serious wrecks.
For those harmed by another driver’s negligence, the law provides a path to seek compensation. Victims may be entitled to recover damages for medical bills, lost wages, ongoing care, pain and suffering, and other losses tied to the accident.
